| Description: The CNPMEM is an interprofessional organisation of maritime fisheries and marine breeding to which must join all members of the profession, whatever their status, involved in production, purchase and transformation of products from maritime fisheries and marine breeding. The CNPMEM was created after the law of May 2, 1991 replacing both the Central Committe of Maritime Fisheries (CCPM) and interprofessional committees. The organisation includes, in addition to the national committee, 13 regional committes and 39 local committees, all with legal status and financial autonomy. The committees’ main tasks are: -to represent and promote the main interests of these activities; -to take part in the organisation of a balanced management of the marine resources; -to contribute to the control and security measures to harmonise the interests of all the sectors; and -to participate in the improvement of production conditions. |

| Description: The North East Scotland Fishermens Organisation (NESFO) was formed in 1980 and is a Producer Organisation (PO) set up under European legislation, to asist its members as catchers and producers of fish within its recognised economic area.
