The Joint-AC Workshop on the implementation of the new Control Regulation was held on 5 February 2025 in Brussels (BE) with structured exchanges planned with DG MARE Control Unit.
The meeting started off with a presentation on the state of play of the implementation of the control regulation by Marta Moren-Abat (DG MARE), followed by horizontal topics for the seven ACs: clatification of roles and responsibilities, REM criteria for high-risk vessels, Electronic Logbook Submission, and harmonization of control and enforcement. The workshop continued with NWWAC-PELAC-NSAC specific topics such as REM, VMS for small-scale fisheries, weighing procedures, Margin of Tolerance, and monitoring engine power.
